EBI has published its new roadmap, Energy Transition for Recreational Boating in Europe: A Roadmap for Alternative Fuel Infrastructure. The publication outlines practical recommendations to support the decarbonisation of recreational boating through a technology-neutral approach that combines sustainable fuels, electrification, hybrid propulsion, and emerging solutions such as hydrogen and methanol.

The roadmap highlights the key role of marinas in enabling the energy transition and calls for coordinated action from industry, policymakers, and infrastructure providers. It also emphasises the immediate potential of sustainable drop-in fuels such as HVO, alongside continued investment in charging and future fuel infrastructure. The roadmap will guide EBI’s advocacy and cooperation with stakeholders as the sector contributes to Europe's climate and competitiveness goals.
